On May 14, Ukraine's State News Agency quoted the Ministry of Economy and Trade as saying that Ukraine's Inter-Sectoral International Trade Commission decided to conduct an anti-dumping investigation on hot-rolled seamless steel pipes imported from China.
Domestic manufacturers complained to the Ministry of Economy and Trade that the price of hot rolled seamless steel tubes imported from China was lower than that of similar products imported from domestic manufacturers between 2015 and 2018. The price of imports in 2018 is lower than that of domestic production costs. Meanwhile, imports of hot-rolled seamless steel tubes from China in 2018 increased by 356% compared with 2015.
In the opinion of the International Trade Commission, domestic manufacturers have provided sufficient evidence to prove the existence of dumping prices for hot-rolled seamless steel tubes imported into Ukraine from China. Therefore, the cross-sectoral committee decided to conduct an anti-dumping investigation.
